Gethsemane Baptist Church

Sunday Bulletin

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise,
as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance. ~ 2 Peter 3:9

Beginning this morning @ 9:45 am and continuing each Sunday through March 10 Dr. Marc Brooks will be holding an introduction to Gethsemane’s beliefs, values and culture. Anyone who has joined in the last couple of years is encouraged to attend.

We will share in the Lord’s Table on Sunday, March 3. Each quarter on Communion Sunday we also collect a special offering for local benevolence needs.

The Baptist Women on Mission will have a missions study on Sunday, March 3 @ 6:00 pm for North American Missions and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. We will have our annual “Walk to the Cross” on Sunday, March 31 during the 11:00 am service. Our goal this year is $3,000.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, ~ 1 Peter 1:3

Join Dr. Marc Brooks in committing to make 2019 a strategic season of focused prayer and fasting for our spiritual lives, families and the future of Gethsemane Baptist Church. We are asking those able to commit the first Monday of each month to seeking the Lord through fasting. We will be fasting during the daylight hours and conclude in joining together for a short prayer meeting at the church on Monday, March 4 @ 6:00 pm.

The Baptist Women on Mission will meet @ 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 6 at the church.

The Women’s Mission Circle will meet at the church on Thursday, March 7 @ 5:30 pm. Hostesses will be Lee Wise and Crystal Gillespie.

Our most important VBS meeting will be March 11 @ 6:30 pm, in the Fellowship Hall. We will be serving a light dinner (to say thank you to our dedicated volunteers). At the meeting, we will be giving out leaders’ materials, schedules, and much more. Just for your information, we will have posted (on March 3), throughout the building, the Workers’ Assignments. Check to be sure your name is listed. It’s not too late to volunteer! Also, we will begin VBS registration on March 3.

Gethsemane has been invited to partner with our friends at Community Heights for a mission in support of a Christian orphanage ministry in Haiti. April Quesenberry will be leading the team as they put on a Vacation Bible School for approximately 50 Haitian orphans. Dates are July 26-30 and a passport is required. See Pastor Marc for additional information about this special opportunity!

Come and Visit!

We'd love to see you Sunday! Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help you as you learn more about God and about Gethsemane.
